On behalf of the trustees of the West Islip UFSD Board of Education, West Islip residents are invited to a community forum on April 4 to obtain feedback for a profile creation of the next superintendent of schools. The board has engaged with District Wise Search Consultants who will lead the forum. Community input will be invaluable to create a profile for the next leader of the West Islip UFSD. Superintendent Bernadette Burns’ retirement will become effective August 2022.
The meeting has been scheduled for April 4, at 7:30 p.m., in the Beach Street Middle School cafeteria. For those who are unable to attend in person, a Zoom link is available on the district website, www.wi.k12.ny.us. The participation of all stakeholders is very
important during this process. All information gathered will be included anonymously in a report that will be prepared for the board of education.
For those unable to attend the meeting, or for those who prefer to provide their suggestions and opinions privately, a confidential email address has been established by the consultants: wisupsearch@districtwisesearch.com.
Emails received by April 13 will be included in the consultant’s report. Emails received after this date will be forwarded to the board of education but will remain anonymous.
