Suffolk County Police Seventh Precinct officers rescued three dogs from a house fire in Shirley today.

Police Officers Joseph Hoffer, Christopher Miron and Michael Sclafani responded to a call of a house fire at 27 Probst Drive in Shirley at approximately 1:15 p.m.  Upon arrival, the officers saw multiple dogs inside the residence. An officer broke a back sliding glass door to gain entry into the residence. One of the dogs needed to be carried out by Officer Sclafani.
