Tasty treats up for grabs at Sayville Farmer's Market opening

Taylor Kyriacou of Specialty Sweets LI is a popular part-time vendor who announces her treats and schedule on Facebook and Instagram weekly. Available are her half-pound cookies, banana pudding cookie, and rainbow cookie crumb cake. New on the menu are French macarons and olive oil cake. Although not a fan of olive oil, Kyriacou had to try to make the popular olive oil cake after a post of Kylie Jenner shamelessly cutting out the center of an olive oil cake went viral earlier this year.

JoAnn DeLucia of JoAnn’s Desserts bakes gluten-free goodies fresh every week from her proprietary flour blend. With many of her friends going gluten-free, she decided to make a whole host of goodies for people to enjoy. “No one would even know they’re gluten-free,” said DeLucia. Asked about the most difficult part of translating traditional recipes to gluten-free, DeLucia said the additional time involved was the biggest hurdle. JoAnn’s Desserts (which will be at the market every Saturday except Mother’s Day weekend) also offers vegan and sugar-free options.
