Swinging into summer

Posted

Swing Time Big Band, Long Island’s premier swing band, will be performing classic songs from stage and screen in an all-American program perfect for a summer evening at the sprawling and picturesque Long Island Maritime Museum in Sayville.

Organized by the Islip Arts Council, this 20-piece ensemble recreates the legendary sounds of the Swing Era. Vocalists are celebrating Nelson Riddle’s 100th birthday, a composer who recorded with Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee, Linda Ronstadt, Dean Martin, and ol’ blue eyes himself, Frank Sinatra.

Tickets are still available for $10, which include parking and seating at the concert. All seating will be on the lawn with a view of the stage and the Great South Bay. Food trucks will be available, but guests can bring their own refreshments and seating as well.
