Prom impact event provides free formal wear to high school juniors and seniors

On Saturday and Sunday, April 23 and 24, the Suffolk County Police Department held the fifth annual prom impact event to help local high school juniors and seniors at the Suffolk County Police Academy in Brentwood.

The event, organized by the Suffolk County Association of Women Police (SCAWP), featured more than 1,000 dresses and 300 suits and tuxedos for students to try on and take home for their special night. Students also had the opportunity to select shoes, accessories and makeup—everything they needed for the big dance—that were donated by members of the SCPD, community members and local businesses. All items were available free of charge to high school juniors and seniors with valid school ID.
