Suffolk County police detectives are conducting an investigation after finding human remains in Great River Tuesday morning.
Third Precinct police officers responded to West Brook Pond in Great River after a 911 caller reported they found skeletal remains found at approximately 11:25 a.m.
Police reports said the remains were transported to the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner to be examined. The remains have yet to be identified.
