Patchogue-Medford High School senior Abigail Caravella and junior Kiersten Schafer claimed the first acting Teeny Awards in the high school’s history for their respective performances in the school’s production of “Mean Girls.”
Abigail won lead role in a comedy musical for her performance as Cady Heron, and Kiersten was honored as the best supporting role in a comedy musical for her portrayal of Janis Sarkisian.
Three of Abigail and Kiersten’s castmates were nominated for Teeny acting awards as well. Sienna Reefer was nominated for lead role in a comedy musical for her portrayal of Regina George, and Katelyn Oterson and Georgia Salerno were nominated for supporting role in a comedy musical for their respective performances as Gretchen Wieners and Karen Smith.
In addition, Patchogue-Medford High School cosmetology students, the pit orchestra, the stage crew, and dance captain Kyla O’Sullivan were recognized by the Teeny Awards as technical recognition honorees for their contributions to the outstanding production of “Mean Girls.”
