Oakdale man killed in single-vehicle crash

Suffolk County Police Fifth Squad detectives are investigating a single-vehicle crash that killed a man in Sayville this morning.

Ike Nelson was driving a 2011 Honda CRV eastbound on Montauk Highway, just east of Broadway, when his vehicle crossed the westbound lane and struck a tree on the north side of the roadway at approximately 10:20 a.m.

Nelson, 34, of Oakdale, was airlifted via Suffolk County Police helicopter to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
