A tri-annual event, Long Island Restaurant Week gives Long Island foodies the opportunity to explore the hottest restaurants for a cool price.

From Sunday to Sunday, each participating restaurant has the option to offer its own unique two-course lunch menu for $24, and/or three-course dinner menu for $29, $39 or $46 every day it is open, except Saturday when it is offered only until 7 p.m. Please note: beverages are not included in the price; rather, the promotion includes an appetizer, dessert, and entrée.

There are over 140 restaurants to choose from each Restaurant Week, so The Islip Bulletin is dishing you the inside scoop on what our favorite local restaurants will be offering.

Captain Bill’s

There is nowhere better to eat fresh seafood than right on the water! Their exquisite menu selections, combined with surrounding views of the Bay Shore Marina, make for that perfect dining experience.

Captain Bill’s will be offering a $46 prix-fixe dinner menu and $24 prix-fixe lunch menu.

On Saturday, the Long Island Restaurant Week promotion will last all evening long at Captain Bill’s, not stopping at 7 p.m. The lunch promotion will not be offered on Sunday, as Captain Bill’s will be offering their regular brunch menu.

Two-course lunch - $24

First course

  • Baked stuffed clams - minced clams, bacon, garlic, parmesan
  • Fried calamari - cherry peppers, marinara
  • PEI mussels - toasted breadcrumbs, white wine, garlic and herbs
  • Soup of the day
  • Mixed greens garden salad - creamy garlic dressing
  • New England clam chowder

Second course

  • Fried flounder sandwich - tartar, lettuce, tomato, and pickles, served with fries
  • Black angus burger - cheddar, bacon, and crispy onions, served with fries
  • Vegetable caprese sandwich - fresh mozzarella, basil, and aioli on ciabatta, served with fries.
  • Grilled Atlantic salmon - shiitake mushroom, tamari ginger sauce, served with potato and vegetable
  • Chicken Milanese - breaded chicken, burrata, with tricolor tomatoes, arugula, basil pesto

Three-course dinner - $46

Appetizers

  • New England clam chowder
  • Fried calamari - cherry peppers, marinara
  • Baked stuffed clams - minced clams, herbs, garlic, pecorino romano cheese
  • PEI mussels - roast garlic herb broth and toasted breadcrumbs
  • Arugula salad - parmesan, pine nuts, cherry tomatoes, vinaigrette
  • Jumbo shrimp cocktail - (add $8.00)

Entrées

  • Seared tuna - shiitake mushrooms, tamari, wasabi
  • Cedar planked salmon - dijon mustard glaze, dill sauce
  • Broiled seafood platter - scallops, shrimp, flounder, baked clams (add $4.00)
  • Horseradish crusted grouper - chive beurre blanc
  • Linguini with shrimp - garlic, tomato, basil
  • Make it a surf & turf - braised short ribs and sautéed sea scallops (add $8.00)
  • Roast chicken breast - mushrooms, truffle butter
  • Braised short ribs - red wine
  • Black angus prime rib of beef au jus - crispy onions, (add $15.00)

Desserts

Bayberry

Nestled in the heart of Islip, this 5,000-square-foot American bistro is a family legacy born out of a shared passion for high-quality dining and hospitality. The restaurant pays homage to Islip’s maritime history with a vibrant menu focusing on local catch and innovative creations.

Bayberry will be offering both a $24 two-course lunch prix-fixe menu and $46 three-course dinner prix-fixe menu.

  • Beet & goat cheese salad - red and golden beets, organic greens, sherry vinaigrette

  • Grilled salmon paillard - avocado, citrus, shaved fennel, pistachio
  • Prince Edward island mussels - shallots, garlic, chardonnay, french fries
  • Dry aged bistro burger - smoked cheddar, bourbon caramelized onion, Dijon-garlic aïoli, sesame seed bun, french fries

  • Crispy truffle cheese curds - marinara
  • Waldorf wedge - Asian pear, celery, salted cashews, iceberg, buttermilk ranch, date puree

  • Linwood fried chicken - crispy boneless thighs, honey drizzle, cheddar grits, slaw

  • Shrimp & grits - blackened gulf shrimp, andouille, roasted tomato, garlic, lime & spring onion
