Local school district budgets pass with overwhelming voter support

BAYPORT-BLUE POINT SCHOOL DISTRICT
The Bayport-Blue Point School District budget passed. The proposition for additional bussing was defeated. Below are the results. The annual budget of $76.9 million with a 2.94 percent tax levy increase was passed with 915 yes votes by 350 no votes. Proposition 2 was defeated with 686 no votes and 572 yes votes. Adrienne Cirone won a seat as board trustee with 631 votes against Elizabeth Cavuto with 535 votes. Candidate Julia Pendola, who ran uncontested, received 713 votes.

CONNETQUOT SCHOOL DISTRICT
The Connetquot School District passed their $203.5 million budget by a vote of 1548 yes to 690 no.
Brian J. Murphy and Marissol Mallon were elected to the positions of school board trustees by receiving the most votes of all five candidates as Connetquot elections are decided by at-large voting. Total votes garnered by each candidate are as follows: Brian J. Murphy, 1,432 votes; Marissol Mallon, 1,385 votes; Eileen Panico, 555 votes; Mark Warshaw, 550 votes; and Sarah Smith, 437 votes.

SAYVILLE SCHOOL DISTRICT
The Sayville School District budget of $96.9 million passed. The budget passed with 996 yes votes to 250 no votes. All three board of education incumbent candidates ran uncontested. Carl Cangelosi received 1,010 votes, Keith Kolar received 1,009 votes, and John Verdone received 1,007 votes.
