Legis. Steven J. Flotteron recently recognized Jacob Zilberstein on becoming the 116th Eagle Scout with Troop 205 at his Eagle Court of Honor at Timber Point Elementary School in East Islip. Jacob’s service project, earning him Eagle Scout status, was the construction of a Life Jacket Pavillion at Walnut Beach in Poquott, N.Y., on the Long Island Sound, where parents can borrow life jackets for their children, who are using the beach facilities.
Jacob is currently a senior at the Ward Melville High School in East Setauket, where he has been a member of the National Honor Society for art, science and math. He is a varsity athlete in tennis and cross county and is a volunteer ED Ambassador for the Peconic Bay Medical Center.
