The Patchogue Kiwanis donated a total of $3,000 for summer camperships through the Village of Patchogue Parks and Recreation Department. The hope is to have about $500 allocated to the art program to pay for 10 participants in full and the rest to be used for as many children as possible in the “Fun in the Sun” camper program. “The Village of Patchogue is very grateful for the donation from the Kiwanis for their summer youth programs,” said parks director Maria Giustizia. “Their generosity will allow the village to register 11 students for their cultural art program and approximately 27 kids in the Fun in the Sun program.”

“2020 has been an exceptionally difficult year for all of us, especially the children of our community,” said Paul Herrmann, president of Patchogue Kiwanis. “As the COVID restrictions are loosening around our community, we are thrilled that the Village of Patchogue is reopening their summer camp programs. It is with that spirit that we’re honored to donate $3,000 toward their summer programs, helping kids of all backgrounds to enjoy the summer activities.”
