He could ‘light up a room’

Family, friends, classmates and supporters have been sending donations to a GoFundMe page created to help support the family of Joe Walser, who died last week.

The GoFundMe page in honor of Walser, a former lacrosse player at Bay Shore High School and St. John the Baptist, was launched to help support Walser’s family with funeral expenses.

In just eight hours, nearly $30,000 had been donated, already surpassing the $25,000 goal. As of Monday, Sept. 20 at noon, over $54,000 had been raised.

“Joe left such a large impact on the people in his life by being the most happy and supportive person to meet,” the GoFundMe page states. “He always knew how to light up a room with that smile or contagious laugh of his.”

“Joe will always be remembered for the amazing impact he has had on all of our lives.”
