Patchogue 2022 Boat Parade

The boat parade will have a theme of “A Winter Wonderland” this year. The preview will be held in the marinas at Off-Key Tiki and Harbor Crab on Saturday, Nov. 19 with the Boat Parade on Sunday, Nov. 20.

In Patchogue, the holiday season starts off with the Christmas Boat Parade, which is always held the Sunday before Thanksgiving. The parade will include about 30 decorated boats which will parade from the Great South Bay and go up and down the Patchogue River. All the riverfront restaurants provide prime viewing opportunities to watch the unique holiday parade and de-facto kickoff to the holiday season in the village. You can also witness the parade from Patchogue’s Watch Hill Ferry terminal or the Davis Park Ferry terminal where there will be public viewing festivities including music and other activities.

The 60-year tradition of the annual Village of Patchogue Christmas Parade starts at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 26, and is one of the most-treasured traditions in Patchogue. It is run by the Village of Patchogue Parks and Recreation Department.

Small Business Saturday is
Saturday, Nov. 26

Small Business Saturday is nationally recognized the day after Black Friday. The Patchogue Chamber of Commerce is always an active participant in this endeavor. It has now become a tradition that the chamber will set up a booth that day starting at 11 a.m., and the first 200 people who come down to shop in Patchogue can meet chamber members at the booth in front of the Patchogue Theatre where they will be giving out shopping bags for giveaways and discounts and other special deals. In the lobby of the theatre during that time, Santa Claus will be taking complimentary photos with children.

Patchogue Retail Association’s
Late-Night Extended Shopping on Thursday, Dec. 1 and Thursday, Dec. 15.

It will be called the “Holiday Shop and Sip” where all the participating retailers will be extending their hours to 8 p.m. or 9 p.m. that evening. The event will also feature some festive treats to add to the experience such as hot cider, snacks and deserts, and assorted libations to enjoy while shopping in local stores. When patrons make purchases, they will be eligible to win some great gifts and prizes, which will include gift certificates to a local restaurant for a free drink, free appetizers, and more fun surprises for those who attend.

Mark your calendars for the two nights of late-night extended shopping which will be two Thursday nights, Dec. 1, and Dec. 15.

Patchogue’s Family-Fun Night:
Winter Wonderland is on Friday, Dec. 9 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

There will be activities for children such as bouncy houses, photo booths, including a snow-globe scene, carnival-like games and more.

Patchogue Menorah Lighting,
Saturday, Dec. 18 at 5:30 p.m.

Temple Beth-El asks the community to join them in prayer and song at the lighting of the menorah at Capital One Plaza on Main Street at 5:30 p.m.

Kris Kringle Mingle, Wednesday, Dec. 14, 6 p.m.

The Harbor Crab Co. will be hosting their annual Kris Kringle Mingle starting at 6 p.m. at the restaurant, located on Division Street in Patchogue. For a $20 donation, tickets include food, a raffle ticket, and a heartwarming feeling, knowing that you put a smile on many families’ faces in the community. Breakfast with Santa, Saturday, Dec. 10 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Village Idiot Pub is hosting a breakfast with Santa from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at their location on East Main Street. They are currently accepting reservations and, as always, encourage participants to bring a toy for the toy drive. This year’s donations will go to ill and underprivileged children from the John Theissen Foundation. Call 631-289-VIP1 for reservations.

Christmas Concert & Community Sing-Along, Sunday, Dec. 11 at 7 p.m.

The Congregational Church of Patchogue’s annual Christmas Concert & Sing-Along is back. This wonderful service is also in need of donations of brownies, cookies, and other sweet treats, as well as bottled water and cups of hot apple cider to sell to benefit the church and its charitable endeavors. Volunteers are also needed to assist with selling tickets that night for a 50/50 raffle; working the refreshment sale table; and other volunteer opportunities.

Eat, Drink, and Be Merry, Thursday, Nov. 10 at 6 p.m.

The Congregational Church of Patchogue will also be having a fundraiser for the Patchogue Neighbors Soup Kitchen which will be held on Thursday, Nov. 10 at 6 p.m. in the evening at the church. It will begin in the Reception Room with hors d’oeuvres, followed by a superb dinner downstairs in the soup kitchen dining area. The meal served is an actual meal from the soup kitchen menu. The requested donation is $35. Additional donations are gratefully accepted. All proceeds go to the purchase of food for the soup kitchen. Tickets are available through church members, Linda and Rick Disney.

Girl Scouts to expand annual Holiday Light Show Nov. 26 to Dec. 30: Early-bird tickets are on sale now!

The Girl Scouts of Suffolk County and County Executive Steve Bellone are excited to announce the Girl Scout Holiday Light Show will be returning to Smith Point County Park in Shirley for 19^th consecutive year. This year, the drive-thru event which features more than a mile of illuminated holiday-themed displays, will take place from Nov. 26 to Dec. 30. Proceeds from the Holiday Light Show and Enchanted Forest benefit girl leadership programs as well as provide financial assistance for girls to join Girl Scouts and attend their summer camp program. Special pre-sale tickets are currently available at gssclightshow.com through Nov. 25 after Nov. 25, online pricing will be available, or tickets can be purchased at the gates with a credit card.

Enchanted Forest, Saturdays and Sundays from 5 to 9 p.m. Nov 26 to Dec. 18 and will also run from Dec. 26 to Dec. 30.

In addition to the annual drive-thru holiday attraction, new to this year’s event, Girl Scouts of Suffolk County will also create an incredible walk-through Enchanted Forest and Holiday Village featuring 200ft light displays, photos with Santa, a picnic area for s’mores, music, and games at Southaven County Park in Yaphank. Along with being a favorite holiday attraction among families from throughout Long Island, the seasonal event serves as an important fundraiser for GSSC. The Girl Scout Holiday Light Show will be open on Saturdays and Sundays from 5 to 9 p.m. from Nov. 26 to Dec. 18 and will run from Dec. 26 to Dec. 30. At Smith Point County Park.

Town and All Suffolk Car Clubs to hold annual Charity Car Show, Food and Toy Drive on Sunday, Nov. 13 to help families in need

The Brookhaven Youth Bureau is teaming up with All Suffolk Car Clubs to present their Annual Charity Car Show, Food and Toy Drive on Sunday, November 13 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Brookhaven Town Hall, located at One Independence Hill in Farmingville. Club members will be displaying their cars in the south parking lot to raise donations for families in need through the Youth Bureau’s INTERFACE Program. Attendees are asked to bring non-perishable food items to contribute to the Thanksgiving Food Drive and new, unwrapped toys for children to open during the holiday season. Bellport’s Breakfast with Santa is held at the Community Center on Dec. 3, at 10 a.m.

Tickets are $10 per person, and those interested in attending can call Bellport Village Hall for details.

Bellport Tree Lighting and Holiday Parade is also on Saturday, Dec. 3 starting at the Bellport Fire Department at 5:45 p.m.

The Parade will start at the Bellport Fire Department at 5:45 p.m. and proceed to the Community Center with Santa lighting the tree. Holiday carols will be performed by some of the cast members of Gateway Playhouse’s, A Christmas Carol. Hot chocolate will be provided courtesy of Avino’s Italian Table, and children can come with their letters to Santa and a table will be set up with some of Santa’s helpers to assist the children in writing their holiday wish, and it will be placed on the Wish Tree in the gazebo. Mayor Fell will make sure the letters and wishes will be sent to Santa courtesy of the North Pole.

Bellport Menorah Lighting will be held on Sunday, Dec. 18

Patchogue’s New Year’s Eve “Midnight on Main” is back!

A New Year’s Celebration will happen on Saturday, Dec. 31 right on the intersection of West Main Street and West Avenue where once again the village will be inviting people to come down to that area starting at 7 p.m. Streets will be closed. There will be a D.J. playing music to get everybody dancing, hot cocoa, food, free party hats and noisemakers as everybody gets ready to countdown to what is known as the “Patchogue Midnight” which is at 9 p.m. At that time, the New Year’s Eve Ball at that intersection will be set up to countdown to 9 p.m. and celebrate. It’s a great event for families to enjoy a local Times Square Experience. It’s also a great way for those planning to spend New Year’ Eve in Patchogue, to celebrate the real midnight, begin their night with a preliminary ball drop to get the night started on a celebratory note.
