Four unusual Patchogue residents show that anything is “pawsible” with the right “catititude.” Queenie and Wally, two cats who live with Rita Caprino, and Chase and Mikie, a pair bonded of felines who live with Michaelyn and Martin Read, have arrived in the glamorous world of modeling by getting their own cards in the Cats Myth and Magick Oracle card deck from U.S. Games Systems.
Queenie was adopted from a local Petco. Her card illustration is reminiscent of the fairy tale “The Princess and the Pea”—a beautiful cat lolling on a pile of elegant cushions. Her inviting image encourages the viewer to find happiness and contentment. Wally, a flaming ginger cat, was rescued and nursed back to health by Caprino after being hit by a car in her neighborhood. His card invites the viewer to be creatively inspired.
Mikie and Chase were adopted into the Read family household from the Westhampton Bideawee, where Michaelyn Read is a volunteer. Always together, the picture on the card perfectly illustrates their close relationship as they try to climb on top of each other in a fishbowl.
What’s next for Queenie, Wally, Mikie and Chase—perhaps a stroll down a high-fashion catwalk? No word on that yet, but an art exhibition is in the works with the Comsewogue Library in Port Jefferson Station, which will feature the foursome along with more than a dozen of the beautiful Cat Mythos and Magick card deck illustrations on larger-than-life canvases. Details to be announced.
