On Saturday, Aug. 10, the Sayville Fire Department hosted the Town of Islip Fire Department parade, where all 16 departments marched. Following the parade, community members were invited to the Sayville Fire Department, where food trucks and children’s activities were set up.
The parade has been a tradition of the Town of Islip for decades and was only shuttered after the pandemic.
Community members lined both sides of Main Street and cheered as their hometown fire department passed by.
With lights and sirens on, the fleet of Community Ambulance Company trucks had a resounding effect on the enthusiasm of the crowds.
