Three Bellport High School seniors will be recognized for their achievement in the classroom at graduation ceremonies on June 27.
Class valedictorian Keshavi Shah compiled a 105.4210 grade point average and received a full four-year scholarship through the QuestBridge National College Match Scholarship program to Rice University, where she plans to study mechanical engineering.
Shah is an AP Scholar with Distinction, president of Bellport’s Science Bowl team, vice president of the Math Honor Society, and a member of the National, Science and English honor societies, the district said in a press release.
Shah is also a member of Bellport’s Key Club, Multicultural Club and WISE program for students interested in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math.) Shah also participated in Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s MITES (MIT Introduction to Technology, Engineering and Science) program.
Class salutatorian Maya Dixit compiled a 105.1781 GPA and will attend Cornell University to study mathematics.
Dixit is an AP Scholar with Distinction and will graduate with an AP Capstone diploma. She is president of Bellport’s Math Honor Society and French Club, vice president of the Science Bowl team, and treasurer of the English Honor Society and Class of 2025 Council.
Dixit is a member of the National, French and Tri-M Music honor societies and participates in the WISE program.
Dixit plays French horn, trumpet, and flugelhorn in the school jazz band and pit orchestra. She is captain of the varsity tennis team and an all-league selection.
Class essayist Lily Seif compiled a 104.6530 GPA and will attend Binghamton University to study biochemistry on a pre-med track.
Seif is an AP Scholar with Distinction and will graduate with an AP Capstone designation. She is treasurer of her school’s Science Honor Society, vice president of the Future Teachers of America club, and a former president of Key Club. She is a member of the National, English and French honor societies and participates in the WISE program.
