There are hot dog trucks, and then there are YumYumDoggy trucks.
Parked at the intersection of William Floyd Parkway and Longwood Road in Yaphank, YumYum Doggies is run by Teresa Frascogna and her two sons, Blake and Zachary. The trio serve up a variety of foods from hot dogs, chili dogs, nachos, knishes and other items for a hungry lunch crowd, which arrives early to get there to-go go-to lunches.
YumYum Doggies recently rebranded over the past few months and was dedicated to her late son, Ryan, since “yum yum” was his favorite saying. The truck provides the typical items for a standard hot dog truck. The hot dogs are simple and reliable, which work for a quick and easy meal. Condiments and toppings are also provided, from the staple ketchup and mustard to cheese and chili. The cheese and chili are just 50 cents extra, which are worth it for the overall hot dog experience.
Another item to highlight are the knishes; even after a few minutes, they were still piping hot and had a bunch of fill options to choose from. The combination of two hot dogs, an ice-cold soda, and chips of your choice also seemed to be popular among customers.
Teresa’s service really shows her attentiveness and care for the truck. Without asking, she will already have napkins and straws already out for you. Teresa’s service is quick as well, where you will only have to wait less than five minutes for your food. This is great for those on the run or just need a quick break.
Overall, YumYumDoggies is a great place to check out if you would like quick service with some good, reliable food. n
