12-year-old drowns in backyard pool

Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the drowning death of a 12-year-old girl in Bellport last night.

Fifth Precinct officers responded to Association Road after a child was found unresponsive in the backyard pool.

The child, Addison Delossantos, a resident of the home, was transported by South Country Ambulance to Long Island Community Hospital in East Patchogue where she was pronounced dead.

The investigation is continuing.
