Sayville Chamber of Commerce will be celebrating the new season with the annual Spring Fest in Gillette Park. Chamber president Eileen Tyznar said there would be some repeat attractions, such as the stilt walker, a juggler, a magician, and the Mad Science booth with lots of princesses and superheroes walking around.

No more free parking

A parking lot on N. Main Street, adjacent to the Sayville Plaza, has been closed off since Monday, April 1. The Town of Islip used to lease the property in order to provide extra parking spaces for Main Street businesses. But, a little over a year ago, the town stopped doing so explaining that the owner’s property taxes were in arrears.
